Ting Fat Teen states: I am a sailor on a junk from Cochin China. I was conveying rice and sugar to Joong when on 30th January I was attacked by two piratical boats.
These boats came from the South West Bay and forcibly boarded ours. The pirates took all we had and carried six of our crew away, five being old men.
The pirates took us to a place called "Foo..." from thence to "Pah Noi" and then to Macao where we arrived on 3rd April. We were placed in a Barracoon in St. Joseph's Street. We were there against our will.
I was asked if I would sign a contract, because I refused I was beaten and not given enough to eat. Finding it likely I would starve, I afterwards agreed to sign the contract, and I was taken on board a foreign vessel there. I saw one Portuguese boat operating nearby.
Ding Yat Sang states, I was conveying rice and salt from a village to the Nam Din Province when on the 13th January I was attacked by two piratical boats. All my crew escaped by jumping...
